He received his Doctor of Martial Science degree (DMS) from the International Academy of Martial Science and Philosophy.
Martial Science is the systemic, analytical study of combat and self defense which goes beyond traditional techniques by applying scientific principles like biomechanics, physiology, and psychology to understand, refine, and adapt fighting methods for real world effectiveness, focusing on practical application, stress inoculation, and holistic human development (mind, body, spirit) rather than just cultural or aesthetic aspects. It involves research, experimentation, and integration of Eastern and Western knowledge to develop adaptable, evidence based systems for efficient self defense and personal growth.
Core Principles of Martial Science:
- Scientific Analysis ~ Deconstruction of movements using physics, anatomy, and kinetics to understand force generation, efficiency, and vulnerabilities.
- Biomechanics and Physiology ~ Studies human movement, stress responses (neurological, vascular, skeletal) and how bodies and minds function under duress to improve technique and performance.
- Adaptability and Practicality ~ Focuses on evolving techniques for realistic, high stress scenarios, moving beyond “rule bound” sports or rigid traditional forms.
- Holistic Development ~ Integrates mental, emotional, and spiritual training with physical skills, recognizing the “whole person” in combat.
- Evidence Based Approach ~ Uses experimentation (Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, EEG, EKG, GSR) and other testing techniques and data (results) to validate and refine training methods, unlike purely traditional or artistic approaches.GM Bannon or his Council of Masters are available to instruct any of the subject matter presented above.
