Taoism is defined by many scholars as “the oldest science of the study of life” to help people live a longer, happier, wiser, and healthier, more productive life. Taoists do not study nor practice the allopathic medical art of death and disease as is common in the Western World, although Western Medicine does offer valuable benefits to the patient when disease has progressed beyond the level of self treatment. Taoist Healing focuses rather on the science of life and healing, as well as the methods for maintaining same through various holistic, natural means such as the above “Eight Pillars of Taoism.” Professor Bannon studied this art at a Traditional Chinese Taoist Kung Fu Temple for (21) Years domestically and overseas where he received his post doctorate certification in Nutritional Medical Philosophy (NMD) approved by the Government of the Philippines, Department of Education, Culture and Sports.
Physical Chiropathy mostly concerns itself with the foods, nutrients, structure, physiological processes, and biochemical levels that the physical body needs to function at an optimal level (Orthomolecular Medicine). The related process is centered around guidance and education in how to care for the healthy state of one’s body.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health always, even as thy soul prospers.”
(3 John 2).
Behavioral Chiropathy concentrates more on the mental, emotional, and spiritual balance of the “body temple” or “total organism” with emphasis given to the human mind and behavior of the person. Instead of introducing various foods, nutrients and physical therapies; this Art uses several forms of counseling and education of psycho-spiritual modalities in an effort to bring a peaceful balance to the inner person as a whole.
Full Body Systems Functional Nutrition is the practice of taking into consideration every aspect of a person’s health, diet, and overall lifestyle when giving them nutritional recommendations. This Art proclaims that all systems of the mind and body are connected and that symptoms are not “things to be treated” but indications of a bigger and deeper health issue. Symptoms are referred to as the “downstream fish,” whereas the roots of the disease state are most likely located in the “upstream lake.” An example would be the relativity and connection between certain mental states, and the digestive system. Functional Nutrition looks at the state of the “whole person” and not just symptoms. Each person is viewed as unique and not a “one size fits all” approach. Some refer to this Art as “Orthomolecular Medicine” established in 1968 by Nobel Prize Winner and Molecular Chemist Linus Pauling, which nutritionally balances the body and brain at the cellular level.
Applied Psychophysiology is the study and application of mind - body connection (Neuroscience) and how psychological processes relate to physiological functions such as improving health, managing symptoms of stress, trauma, and PTSD, using psychological measurements to help individuals gain voluntary control over involuntary processes. It recognizes and researches the intricate link between psychological experiences such as emotions, cognition, and physical body functions. It incorporates technologies to record physiological signals such as heart rate, skin conductance, muscle activity, and brainwaves. The information gathered from these recordings is used in therapeutic or training contexts, often through methods like Biofeedback, Hypnosis, Guided Imagery, Meditation, Controlled Breathing, and other techniques to help regain system homeostasis and return to Parasympathetic Nervous System dominance. The primary goal is to help people modify their physiological responses to inner psychological stressors. (See Below):
